Duffy Assembly Reflection

Today Tamaki Primary had two special Duffy quest named Joshua and Corey they were brothers but they went to different schools. Corey went to Mangere Grammar college and Joshua went to Mt Roskill grammar. They started off the duffy assembly by telling a short story about their Grandfather named Su’a. What happened was their grandfather was a very small guy but tough and he would do anything to protect his sister. So one day his sister was hurt by a man, so he wanted well some revenge. He went looking around Samoa and the sun was rising around the horizon and at the corner of his eyes. He grabbed a stick and jumped on a horse and charged at the man. He striked at the man so the man fell to the ground and broke his leg. He didn’t know what to do so he ran to his sister and told her everything of what happened.

She told him, “You need to pack your bags and get of this Island or you would end up in prison.” He said his goodbyes and left he ended up on a country named Aotearoa. It was cold compared to Samoa he checked his bag for a jumper but all he had was one singlet, two ten cents and a bible. So he had to make the most of it. He started to work at the  rail way station(train station). Every day he would wake up read his favourite verse on the bible eat his breakfast and go to work. He did that for about 2 years and he ended up being up building his own house with a beautiful Samoan and with 6 children. Then Joshua did a speech most of the year 7 & 8 remember brown brother. It was inspiring he had so much emotions and he couldn't express it so he just wrote it down.

Tuakana Teina With Room 1

Today we had Tuakana Teina with room one because Miss Barlow needed some peace and quiet with her filming. So we had her class for the first block. What we did was we had to come up with our own imaginary sea creature and describe it. What we did next was we sang a song called the Kaimoana song the lyrics are:
Kina Kina
Wheke Wheke
Ika Ika
Tuna Tuna
Pipi Pipi
Paua Paua
Kaimoana e... Hi!
